It happened at 35,000 feet.
On a flight to Dallas, I watched a woman dig through her bag for five minutes looking for her makeup brushes. When she finally found them — they were in rough shape. She did her best to clean them, but powder was going everywhere. She kept apologizing to me.
I asked if she cleans them or replaces them. She said she buys cheap ones from the dollar store — not worth cleaning, just toss them.
